Every year, the Tyrolean mountain village of Alpbach is transformed into a “village of thinkers” during the European Forum Alpbach. Participants from all over the world and from all walks of life come together to discuss current issues of our time.
The Club Alpbach Niederösterreich awards scholarships for participation in the Forum to young and committed people with a connection to Lower Austria, regardless of whether they are working or engaged in education. The Club also offers a varied program outside the Forum with its strong network, exciting events, and a lively exchange with business, politics, and science.
The Club
The Club Alpbach Niederösterreich team is a group who wants to enable others to attend the European Forum Alpbach and help them to broaden their horizons. The Club’s Board organizes the scholarships, the stay in Alpbach, and the supporting program outside the Forum. The well-connected members of the Supervisory Board lead the Club and support the Board with their experience.
Das European Forum Alpbach
The European Forum Alpbach was founded in 1945 to bring together young people from Europe to discuss the pressing issues of the day, broaden their perspectives, and find new approaches to solutions. Over the years, the Forum has grown into an international conference with scholarship holders from all over the world and high-ranking representatives from politics, business, and science.
These days, the European Forum Alpbach is comprised of two aspects. One includes a variety of seminars for the scholarship holders, in which they work together with experts from a broad range of scientific and artistic disciplines. The other consists of thematic conference blocks of several days with lectures, panel discussions, and workshops where the scholarship holders can come into direct contact with representatives from politics, business, and science.
